PWP Year in review – 2014

PWP Year in review – 2014

Today, on the first day of the New Year 2015, I feel it is obligatory perhaps to look back at the year passed by as we look forward to the year ahead of us.

As I look back, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness, provisions, guidance to name a few.

Blings with purpose

We celebrated the first anniversary of PWP on MLK day. Gathered together making necklaces to send them off to Mongolia. As I talk about Mongolia, let me tell you about an awesome ministry that I came to know about.

Good  Shepherd’s Ministry is started by a family devoted to Christ in taking the gospel message to this far East beautiful country of Mongolia. Please be thinking and praying for them.

Cooking for the homeless

Last year for the first time we teamed up together with friends and cooked up a meal to feed around 200 homeless. It was a humbling experience.

Lunch at the Academy

Summer means vacations, pool, lazy days and oodles of fun for many. In complete 180 turn it also means, no food, extra work and unscheduled unsupervised time to get into the troubles for many. One of our local ministry works with school age kids during summer which not only provides meals but also helps them to pick up on their school work. My friend and I had the unique opportunity to cook up some breakfast and meal for them. They loved the food and we loved the experience of sharing it with them.

PWP Bible summer camp

We didn’t think camp will happen at all but it came together when three global missionaries joined hands together.Watching them teach the word of God to our children with the hint of global exposure was delightful.

Last year, I had the opportunity to meet a pastor and his wife, who founded an orphanage in Mexico. He felt led by God to start an orphanage at an age when many thinks it’s about time to retire and rest. Inspiration for sure. We were privileged to be the part of it in the smallest of the way.

Stockings for the homeless

We had a unique opportunity this year to participate with our church in filling in the stockings for homeless. How over 375 stockings were filled I do not know. I loved how the littlest and oldest can work together in this.

Sweets for those who serves us

During holidays we enjoy several festivities around town from parade, holiday light and cheerful shows. The constant presence during all these fun shows are our law enforcement officers, our fire man, who are ready to go in seconds notice to help out.We are humbled and grateful for their service everyday. One of the ways we show our appreciation during these holidays is by treating them with some homemade sweets.

One of the most awaited person during the busy month of Christmas is perhaps the mailman. Tracking our orders and deliveries, we wait for those packages to arrive, don’t we?

Holidays also means parties and get together. Cleaning and organizations. It means we likely produce more trash than any other time of the year. I cannot imagine how stinky the life would be without regular trash pickup?

As you read through this list, please know that each one of you are capable of doing many of these in your community and many many others.Keep your focus on Christ and seek His guidance and leadership.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,  since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians2:23-24
